I Love Ram

The Ram Who Belongs
to Every Indian

A message of maryada, karuna, and unity — for a Bharat where no one carries hate in their heart, and no one goes to bed hungry.

श्री
Who He Is

Maryada Purushottam — the man who chose restraint over power

Maryada Purushottam means "the most perfect among men who upheld propriety" — not a warrior-king who conquered by force, but a prince who gave up his throne without complaint, walked fourteen years in exile without bitterness, and treated a boatman, a forest-dwelling grandmother, and a monkey chieftain with the same respect he gave to kings.

His strength was never the point of the story. His restraint was. Ram teaches that dharma is not about winning — it is about doing the right thing even when it costs you everything.

That is the Ram this site is built around: not a symbol to fight over, but an example to live up to.

rāmo vigrahavān dharmaḥ sādhuḥ satya-parākramaḥ
Ram is dharma embodied — upright, and true in valour. — Valmiki Ramayana 3.37.13
His Example

A Life That Kept Making Room for Others

सखा

Guha

Before crossing the Ganga into exile, Ram sat and ate as an equal with Guha, a boatman from a community the court would have called "low-born." He called him brother.

Sabari

An old tribal woman offered Ram fruit she had already tasted, to be sure it was sweet. He ate it gladly — devotion mattered more to him than status or ritual purity.

Hanuman

A vanara — not even human by the old hierarchies of the story — became Ram's most trusted companion, proof that loyalty and love outrank any label of birth.

Vibhishana

When Ravana's own brother crossed enemy lines seeking refuge, Ram welcomed him without hesitation. Ram judged people by their choices, never by which side they were born on.

mitra-bhāvena samprāptaṁ na tyajeyaṁ kathañcana
One who comes to me in friendship, I will never abandon. — Valmiki Ramayana, Yuddha Kanda 18.3
Ramcharitmanas — “The Raghu line has ever kept its word, though life be lost.”

Ram's Ayodhya had room for a boatman, a tribal grandmother, a monkey general, and a man who was born on the "wrong" side. Our Bharat has room for every Hindu and every Muslim who calls this land home.

To love Ram is not to fear or hate anyone in his name. Anyone spreading hatred under his banner has misunderstood the story. Maryada was never about conquest — it was about restraint, respect, and responsibility toward everyone who shares this land.

Voices of Unity

What This Message Means to Us

"I don't see Ram as belonging to one side of an argument. He belongs to every rooftop where a family lights a diya, whatever they call God."

— Community reflection, Ayodhya

"Our neighbours have shared our Eid and our Diwali for three generations. That is the Bharat I want my children to inherit."

— Community reflection, Lucknow

"Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam isn't a slogan for festivals. It's a test of whether we actually treat the world as one family."

— Community reflection, Varanasi

These are illustrative reflections — replace with real voices from your community as you gather them.

Helping others is merit; harming others is sin.
